Hey!!!!

I went to Pizza Hut with Josh and his sisters, their husbands, and MK tonight. We all had such a nice time eating pizza, discussing c-sections, how Josh really feels, etc. It came to my attention that I had not posted for a while. Time just seems to get away from me. So, here I am at 12:30 on Friday night posting on my blog. This is going to be quick...I have to work tomorrow (yes, Saturday...ugh).

San Antonio, Part 2

So, this morning I thought I could figure out which stop to get off of the first bus in order to catch the correct transfer. I won't do that again. I missed it and ended up in some weird part of town next to a large Salvation Army store/warehouse. I was approached by two mini-missionaries (two Hispanic children) who wondered if I had a Bible. I assured them that I did. 1 minute later, a man in a long coat and hat with a handlebar mustache asked me where I needed to go. He tried to "push" me toward another stop where a trolly would take me right downtown. I checked the sign, but the service didn't start for another hour and a half...so I went back to the stop on the train tracks. The 51 finally came and took me very near. I walked the rest of the way. The sessions were pretty good, the Spanish Embassy luncheon was great, and the sightseeing/souvenir shopping was fun. I came back fairly early this evening...since I had a ride from a friend that I met at the conference. It's nice to get off of my feet and rest for more conference tomorrow and my flights. San Antonio, Part 1

Hola todos. I had some time and high-speed internet this evening before bed, so I thought I would share my experience thus far. I arrived in San Antonio shortly after 9 PM on Thursday evening (10, your time). Needless to say, I was tired and hungry. I ordered some pizza, searched the net for a bus stop close to my hotel (I'm in the boonies near the airport), and got ready for bed. Unfortunately I did not find a bus stop, so I feared that I would have to pay an arm and a leg for a taxi...both ways. I went to bed with a bad feeling. Praying that things would be different in the morning.
I slept straight through 6 hours. After getting ready quickly, I headed down for a continental breakfast. It was great! Freshest and sweetest fruit salad I've ever had. The morning staff informed me that there actually is a bus stop nearby, and it is only 3 blocks away. The staff shuttled me there so I didn't have to walk in my heeled boots. The convention and sessions were informative and somewhat fun. In the middle of the day, I headed to the River Walk to see some sights and eat. More sessions and symposium exhibits. Then, a River Walk and good Mexican food. It's now bedtime again, and I'm ready. Hasta mañana. Until then, check out the slide show.

For my sister-in-law

I think you are the only one that even looks at this, but that's fine with me. At least someone does. When school starts, I seem to lose touch with everything...like bloggong. Anyway, we had such a great time at MK's party. I can't wait to have some of my own. :)

Wakeboarding

       

I love my friends! Vicki and Kevin invited me to go boating with them this evening. Vicki took me for my first jet ski ride. We went over 50 mph! Even though it was choppy, I had a great time. We then took the boat out to wakeboard. Kevin did really well, and it only took a few tries for me to stay up for more than 5 seconds. I love boating!!

Juniata Float

       

On Saturday, we floated the Juniata from Smithfield to Mapleton. It was a gorgeous day, and we had a really nice time. The water was high and cloudy in most places, but that made the (few) rapids even better! There were a lot of cool birds out. I saw more herons than ever before, and 2 or three eagles! That was the first time I've ever seen them in the wild. It was a great trip. I recommend it.

Manifest Destiny

Once again Josh is headed out west to help with the forest fires. He will be in Cascade Complex, Idaho for 2 weeks.

Here are some shots from Camp Calvary, a Baptist church camp near Reading. There's one of me on the mechanical bull, a pic of the pond (with all of its toys), and the "Forensics" on formal night. The week was fun, a little frustrating, and overall blessed. He was definitely present and at work.

On Saturday, Josh and I joined Jared, Sabrina, MK, Stephanie, and Anthony for an afternoon in the river. Some of us fished a little (I mean little as in the fish...they were babies), while the baby splashed and giggled.

I Heart PA

On the 3rd of July, Josh and I took the canoe out to Petersburg to fish. While there, I saw two different animals that I had never seen in the wild. There quite a few muskrats out that evening. Also, I saw a mink pull a catfish out of the water for its evening meal. Later, we followed one down the bank for a while. Jared joined us later when I snapped a picture of him in the beautiful reflection of the river valley.

 
 
 

A Friday With Friends

 
 
 
 

I had the distinct pleasure of spending the day with Vicki, Aron, and Miss Caroline at the People's Choice and Arts Festivals in State College on Friday. We walked the calories from Panera and Coldstone Creamery away as we checked out the cool and interesting "art."

Later in the day, we regrouped to board the Karaoke Cruise. We met with Krystle, John, and family and sang the night away. Aron, Krystle, and myself sang "Before He Cheats" while Staci danced and sang back-up. Later, I sang "To Be With You" while ducking to clear the bridge. Next, Staci requested that "Heather's Hussies" sing "Baby Got Back." It was a beautiful, chilly night, and all-in-all a great day!

Creation Fest NE '07

 
 
 

These are some photos of Creation '07. You see the main stage, the fringe stage, and the candle lighting (done by Casting Crowns that evening). It was a great time, tagging along with the Bakers, Bookamers, and Mansbergers, and being surrounded by 70 thousand + Jesus freaks. Now here's one good thing about Mt. Union, PA.

The Alphabet According to Amanda

Jared and Sabrina inspired me to put a video on my blog. I am here at home with Amanda, who is very bored. So, we decided to post a video of her from last year. She is with her two sisters, Ashton and Alexis, performing her rendition of the alphabet. Take notes, everyone!

Wow, once again I've neglected to update my blog. I guess it really would matter if someone actually looked at it. Anyway, here are a few pix and some info about what has been going on. Church Camp

In June, I went to Wesley Forest. It is a United Methodist church camp south of Lewisburg, PA. I had a great time getting to know the campers and counselors, hiking, stream stomping, p & w-ing each night around the fire with acoustic guitars, and growing in faith. Do it if you ever get a chance.

In late May, I went with Jeff's physics class to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.
Fortunately, Erin had some time off, so she drove up to join us. We had so much fun
riding the insane roller coasters, such as the Top Thrill Dragster (420 ft., 120 mph (in 4 seconds), 90 degrees up and down, 27o degree turn). Pure madness. I would have recommended it afew weeks ago, however there have been so many roller coaster accidents in the past month, I'm not sure anymore.

Josh and I got a canoe a few months ago. It's great! We've gone fishing a couple of times, and mom and I floated the branch last weekend. Get one (or some kayaks) and get out on the beautiful waters God has blessed us with!

On June 7th, my cousin, Alyssa, graduated from Huntingdon High. She is off to St. Francis in the fall. I can't believe how old we are getting!
