5-day weekend!!!

Who knew that a 2 day weekend could turn into a 3 day, then a 4 day, and finally a 5 day weekend?? Although we're losing some snow make-up days, this was worth it. I was able to get some things done around the house, babysit my niece, hang out with Josh and Gryff, and post some blog entries! I hope you enjoy them :)
It's back to work tomorrow...Happy Valentine's Day!

Thompson's Aviary

When it comes to birds and bees, my in-laws are experts. No, literally, they used to have honey bees and now they have free range chickens. Josh was messing with "Pop Tart" because she wanted to come in the house where it was warm. No thanks! In the other photos, you can see the many different species that visit for the fine cuisine. And just before this, Josh was out with the Game Commission guy getting ready to trap some turkeys. It's a Winged Winter Wonderland!

American Idol + Themed Dinner = Much Fun

The plan was for the ladies to meet each Tuesday night at the Christopher residence for a themed meal and AI. We've gotten off to a rocky start, but I forsee many interesting meals in the future. First was Japanese night. On the menu was veggie sushi, edamame, rice, and fresh fruit. As you can tell, I am a natural when it comes to rolling sushi. Caroline and Vicki opted for cereal as the sushi was too "fishy" for them. The next week was Mexican night, which I missed. (And you guys missed out on some amazing mexican dish that I would have whipped up). Last week we had Italian night where we feasted on a cheesy pasta dish a la Aron, salad, and biscotti. The lattes were to die for, if I do say so myself! We were supposed to have Chinese last night, but the weather prohibited us from traveling. We have rescheduled for Valentine's day...for couples, of course. Kevin and the future Mrs. will be the guests of honor, for they are "Valentines"...haha.

Baby El!

El was born by way of C-section on January 22, 2008. She was a heavy little gal (9.02 lbs.) with red hair! She's a cutie just like her mommy and daddy. :)
