I have no idea what's going on...

Please disregard my previous post.  It turns out that the results from my 3 hour fasting glucose tolerance test were low (which is what the receptionist at my OB's office told me).  What she failed to mention is that they were probably too low.  Did I receive a call from the OB or her nurse?  No, why would they do that?  The result:  A trip to the emergency room!  Originally, I thought I was having a heart attack (pains in my chest, nausea, fever, cold sweat, all-over uncomfortable feeling).  So, I called the maternity ward.  The nurse told me that it is probably a cardiac problem brought on by the pregnancy, and to go to the ER.  Josh took me in and they hooked me up to the heart monitor for a while...but no one believed me that it was my heart.  That's probably because it wasn't...well, not technically.  Apparently, my blood sugar is getting too low after fasting all night long.  Then, when I eat in the morning, my body has to work really hard (this is where the heart comes in) to regulate my blood sugar.  That's why I've been feeling "weird" every morning about an hour and 15 minutes after eating breakfast!  I just happened to fast for longer than normal from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning and have a more sugary breakfast than I usually do.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I have my next appointment on Thursday.  Until then, I will be making sure I eat something every few hours and trying to maintain a good blood sugar level.  Can anyone say: GESTATIONAL DIABETES???  (Plus, as an added bonus, the ER doc told me that this is a sign that I will probably be diabetic in 20 years).  Yippee!

You'll be in my prayers - that sounds like a very scary ER trip.
