Ella's ONE!
We really enjoyed our visit in Philadelphia for Ella's b-day party!. We almost died only 3 times on the way to and from, but we made it! Thanks for a fun day, everyone!
26 Weeks and 3 1/2 coats...
Three and a half coats of paint, that is....Chickadee yellow. It's so bright it feels like you are standing inside of the sun. Even after changing the light bulbs, it's "vibrant." Oh well, we're going to tone it down with a lighter border and probably change the light bulbs again (40 watt this time).
The 26 week appointment was yesterday, and it was the first with our new Dr. She is very nice! I think this is going to work out nicely...except for the long wait. I was there for 2 hours!!! I had to wait to meet with the nurse; we had the initial interview; then I had to wait for the Dr. We listened to the heartbeat and got some measurements. So far, so good. I only gained 2.5 lbs. in 4 weeks (I was expecting more). I start 2 week appointments now, and I am due for my glucose test and Rogam shot next time. Yippee! 3rd trimester here we come!
The REAL Before Pix
Ok, so I knew I had taken pictures of the mess that used to be the office/nursery-to-be. However, I could not find them anywhere in my archives. Then Josh brought in the SD card from his field camera....they were on it!!! It's the second time that's happened in a month...it's very annoying. Anyway, here they are...don't look if you're a neat-freak.

Phase 2 uh oh
So, mom came over to help with the primer coat this evening. We were close to finishing when I read the paint can: This product is known in California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive problems. Oopsy! I left the room immediately and Josh reluctantly took my place. It's legal in PA, but I guess we shouldn't be taking any chances. On Thursday we'll apply the actual paint...which is VOC free!!! (Volatile Organic Compounds) I have pix, but not uploaded yet. After Thursday, maybe :)

Nursery: Phase 2
The day I have been waiting for has finally arrived! Target put out their new lines of infant bedding this week! Gram and I made the trip this evening to Altoona...success! The new collection I have chosen is called "Birds" by Dwell Studio. The colors are almost exactly what I wanted, but it was worth the wait! It is eclectic like me...polka dots, flowers, stripes, and cute little birds. Colors: pink, light pink, dark pink, yellow, brown and white. Ironically, I have been wanting to paint a room yellow for a couple of years now, so it did not take me long to decide which color to use. After target, we headed to Lowe's to check out paint. The Olympic brand has no VOC, so I headed straight there. After a few comparisons, we found the color. It is called "chickadee." SO MEANT TO BE! Check out the progress I have made so far. Painting starts tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(P.S. I am slightly embarrassed about the mess that used to be in the room, but that just makes the transformation more dramatic) :)

Brina's B-day
I realize there are no pictures of the birthday girl....but that's because Josh was the photographer for the evening. He took several, but they were not very flattering because I think he was trying to get the most embarrassing photos possible. Sorry! Anyway, we did get some cute ones and here they are! Happy Birthday to you...and many more!

Introducing Elli!

In just a few short months, we will all meet Elli Kaylyn Thompson. Elli for CiccarELLI, and Kaylyn was one of the two names Josh actually liked out of a list of 1000. Now that we know she's a she, I have been motivated to start getting her nursery ready. I've been cleaning out the office/scrapbooking/storage (junk) room now for 3 days. It's coming along nicely. Now we just need to pick linens and a paint color. Mom is going to help since Josh has so many other things to do...ha! I'll be sure to upload some pix once we make some headway. There are only 17 (or so) weeks to go!

16 weeks

I had my 16 week appt. today. I was given a letter telling me that my OB/GYN is closing his practice in the middle of my pregnancy (fortunately, I already knew thanks to Sabrina). Then, I had to wait forever because they were behind. Teresa weighed me...and I gained 5 lbs. in 4 weeks! Finally :) Then I sat in a big comfy chair where I had my blood pressure checked (right on) and got to hear the baby's heartbeat again (sounds good!). Dr. Graham came in to apologize and talk about my next moves. I then scheduled my next appointment for December 29th at 9:00 AM....at which we will hopefully find out the gender!!! Josh just might get his birthday wish :)

12 week sonogram!
Some pregnancy pix
In order of appearance: Week 13, Week 12, and Week 11. Josh and I have been slacking for weeks 14 and 15. By the way, this is not really an exact science at this point in my pregnancy. I've gained practically no weight, and I think the visible size of my belly depends upon how much I ate for supper :) However, it is growing... so that's a good sign! Next appt.: Tuesday, Nov. 18.
